Hypnosis traces its roots back some 5,000 years as a viable non-invasive form of therapy.Powerful in deed, hypnosis was originally used as anaesthesia. As long as there has been human beings, there has been hypnosis. Call it what you feel most comfortable with; guided imagery, creative visualization or altered consciousness, but the evidence of success with Hypnotherapy is undeniable! The results of hypnotherapy is overwhelmingly positive and effective. Countless success stories exist attesting to the benefits of this technique. Many people have stopped smoking, lost weight, managed pain, improved their sport, increased their confidence or stopped other destructive behavior and improved their health and well-being through its use. It also provides many health benefits like slowing your heart rate and breathing, normalizing your blood pressure and actually slowing the rate at which your body ages and more!
How does it work?
Our thinking has a profound effect on how we feel, our health, and our success in our business and personal lives. Hypnosis works on any thing that is connected to the mind. There is nothing mysterious about hypnosis and Stanford University studies show that 95% of people can be hypnotized to some extent. The depth of hypnosis varies with a person’s ability to respond. Hypnosis is a natural state of mind similiar to daydreaming or being absorbed in a book or movie. In hypnosis that state of relaxation is deepened. It is a heightened state of concentration, focus and awareness. It is powerful, relaxing, and you will love it! In order for you to understand how hypnosis works, it is very important for you to understand the relationship between the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The conscious mind, which accounts for 10% of our mind, is working right now as you are reading this. The conscious mind is where we spend most of our time. The subconscious mind accounts for the other 90% of the mind.It automatically controls our bodily functions; breathing, heart beating and eyes blinking. It contains your values, your core beliefs about your self, every thought you have ever had, every word that has ever been said to you, every experience you have ever had. The only way a real change can take place is to get the new beliefs and ideas into the subconscious mind. For you to be successful at things that seem impossible, those inappropriate unconscious patterns have to be changed into new habits that enhance your ability to get what you want. There is a part of the conscious mind called the critical factor. It is the "gate keeper" to the subconscious mind. Through the induction of hypnosis by a trained hypnotherapist, the critical factor goes to sleep while the conscious mind stays awake and your subconscious is receptive to any suggestion that your conscious mind wants to let in. With hypnosis, you are always in control of your own experience.
Hypnosis is about harnessing your imagination and developing rapport with your unconscious mind so you can eliminate unconscious conflicts that may be holding you back. Imagine achieving the outcomes you want in your life easily, effortlessly and naturally.

Some hypnotists claim that one session is all it takes for change, but that is just not realistic. How long did it take to develop your habit? Most people improve after only one session, but to experience lasting results the human mind learns from repetition. Hypnosis is a process, not an event or magic. For this reason, three to six session programs are offered to ensure that not only do you reach your goals, but you are able to maintain them as well.
The first session is a necessary meeting of gathering information; history, isolation of problem, motivation for change, testing and to evaluate the degree of hypnotizability. Cindy's approach is highly personalized to develop a customized program just for you. The first session is the longest session and is crucial to the overall success of the Hypnotherapy. Sessions are approximately 55-75 minutes.
