Thai Bodywork
Traditional Thai Therapeautic BodyWork is one of the world's oldest healing modalities. Having its roots in India over 2500 years ago it was brought to Thailand by Ayurvedic (the sister science of Yoga) doctors and Buddhist monks. It is a method of aligning the energies of the body which has close relationships with Ayurveda, Yoga, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Japanese Shiatsu. Its profound effect releases tension, increases vitality, relaxes and revitalizes the entire body. Thai Bodywork is unmatched in its ability to open joints and increase range of motion and flexibility.
All of the work is done on a comfy mat on a floor fully clothed, except for barefeet and without the need for body oils and its sticky residue. Using thumbs, palms, feet, elbows and knees, the full body massage consists of slow, rhythmic compressions and stretches along the body's energy or Sen lines and gentle rocking to more deeply open joints and facilitate limbering for a truly Zen-like experience. It promotes the free flow of energy, gently stretches and lengthens muscles and slowly opens up tight joints - knees, ankles, wrists and especially hips and shoulders. It also stimulates the functioning of the internal organs, improves blood circulation, detoxifies and balances the hormonal and nervous systems.
Thai BodyWork is an excellent alternative therapy for rehabilitation, pain relief, and stress reduction. It is nurturing, calming, enlivening and will expand your ideas of what body work can be.
Regular Thai BodyWork will improve your flexibility and restore your general well-being.
